Minnewashta Regional Park Pre-Wedding Session
This session was the perfect reminder that you don’t need to pick the most iconic location in your area to achieve nice portraits. Simplicity is beautiful. Simply having a story and honoring that connection to the land is meaningful enough. This isn’t to say I don’t enjoy photographing the popular spots (they’re popular for a reason!) but I believe intentionality lays the strongest, best foundation to build off.
Interstate State Park Engagement Session
One thing I always ask my couples for is the story about how they met. Skyler and Josh met while working at a summer camp together. Josh was working here for the summer, as he lived in the UK at the time. Once the summer came to a wrap, they made sure to hang onto the connection they felt developing. It just goes to show you never know where or when you’ll meet the love of your life.
Interstate State Park Engagement Session in Taylors Falls, MN
We began the session near the glacial potholes, which are such a cool and distinctive part of the Taylor’s Falls landscape. These natural wonders added a beautiful texture to the photos, and the couple’s playful energy made for some truly candid moments.
Boom Island Engagement Session
There’s something magical about fall mornings in Minneapolis, and Kate and Dave’s engagement session captured all of that crisp, cozy charm. We started our day at Boom Island Park, where the golden leaves and quiet paths set the tone for an intimate and relaxed session. With the Minneapolis skyline in the background and the Mississippi River nearby, it was the perfect place to begin documenting Kate and Dave’s love story.

If you’re planning your engagement session or wedding at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, my biggest tip is to take your time. With so much to explore, it’s worth setting aside a couple of hours to enjoy the experience. Whether you’re wandering the rolling meadows, soaking in the beauty of the formal gardens, or simply walking hand-in-hand down a quiet, tree-lined path, the Arboretum offers endless possibilities to create unforgettable moments.
