boozhoo!
(in Algonquin, that means hello!)
I’m Kayla Koerner (the “O” is silent) — but you can call me Kay! I’m a multidisciplinary Anishinaabe artist, born + raised here in the North! Even though Minnesota has been the only place I’ve ever had the privilege of calling home, traveling to new destinations has become a serious passion of mine. And while I can find comfort wandering the bustling streets of our Twin Cities, portaging up north with a 50lbs pack on my back as I balance a canoe over my head, miles away from any cell reception, is my true home.
I won’t do anything that my heart is not wholeheartedly invested in. Once I discovered how absolutely rewarding capturing + preserving other people’s happiest memories is, I knew this was my passion-path. If you’re investing in me and my work, I’m investing my all into you and your story!
At the end of the year, photographs are the most potent proof of time that’s passed and the connections we’ve gained as a direct result. Photographs are tangible memories that we can easily pass on to future generations.
Photography has aided me in becoming a visual storyteller. I’m honored to aid you in telling your unique story.
