Ziigwan (spring), Already?

As a new wedding photographer, this biboon (winter) was one filled with reflection and planning. The off-season granted the perfect opportunity to envision how I want this coming year to look — not only for me and my small business, but for the other passions in my life as well. For me, ziigwan means garden prep and art shows on top of photoshoot sessions and editing! And while I love the downtime biboon provides, I’m so looking forward to getting back into the swing of my other passions!

I spent the biboonong editing photos and footage; editing this website; planning my garden and taking care of my succulents; painting and participating in my first art exhibition — my first white wall gallery show!!; dog training; designing and beginning my variety channel on Twitch; starting a garden photo blog; and organizing my workspaces!

I really tried to push myself out of my comfort zone and challenge any preconceived notions I had about myself. I jumped for opportunity when I saw it. It paid off and I’m so, so, so grateful — to myself, to the universe, and Creator — chi-miigwech. This past winter has shown me what I’m able to achieve if I simply put my mind to it. I’m looking forward to bring that positive energy forward into this season of reawakening and growth!

I’m looking forward to being able to get out into nature, photographing faces old + new once again! To be given more opportunities to grow as both a photographer and business-person is a blessing :-)

What are you most looking forward to this coming ziigwan? Are you planning a garden of your own? Let me know!
