EOY Re-Cap
Below are some of my favorite photographs I took while gardening in 2021
It felt as though it would never end, but 2021 is coming to a close. Time moved strangely slow at times, and flowed too quickly at others. The end of the year usually sneaks up on me. It feels as if nothing has happened…until you begin to recount all the wild events that took place. Now is the perfect time to take a moment and reflect on those very changes — both enormous and subtle.
Even though we’re still treading our way through this pandemic, I find I have a lot to be grateful for. I assembled the bones and had a soft-launch for my photography business. I picked up the paintbrush again this year; and participated in Art-a-Whirl (virtually!) I photographed several weddings as a second, and learned so much. I started gardening, and was able to capture so many beautiful images from the process. I began my journey of reconnection to my culture. I discovered more about my neurodivergent brain…
I could go on, but my point is: reflection is an essential key to understanding ourselves better.
My wiijiiwaagan and I have been laying down some serious bricks this past year. I’m excited to see how the cookie crumbles. While I’m obviously incredibly stoked about my wedding photography journey, I’m most excited about the plans we have for our garden (HINT: there may/may not be a project involving YouTube!) Nothing beats dirt-caked fingernails and grass-stained feet; and I document every moment of it.
Is there anything you’re determined to bring forward with you into 2022? How about anything you’d love to leave behind forever?
Before we part ways (aka I end this blog post you’re reading) I’d like to plant this seed: 2022 will be filled with the most abundance I, or we, have ever experienced. It will be a year of healing and growing.
If you made it to the bottom, you’re a real one. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Stay tuned for future projects and print sales!
