Engagement Session in Elm Creek Park Reserve
Lisa and Brandon wanted their engagement session to be out in nature, but needed it to be accessible because Brandon uses a wheelchair. After checking in with them about the durability of his wheelchair, I thought Elm Creek Park Reserve would be a fantastic spot to photograph them. Their paved trails are well taken care of and are extensive. The only minor inconvenience was the wooden bridge we needed to cross at the beginning of the session; it was a bumpy ride, so we took our time crossing it. Thankfully, the bridge is wide, so there’s plenty of room for cyclists and other folks to pass by and be respectful of everyone’s space.
I always come to sessions with a general idea of how I want to photograph my couples, but I had a lot of fun thinking up different poses for them throughout the session as we meandered. Plus, Brandon’s chair is really neat! Not only can it rise up pretty high to allow him and Lisa to be eye to eye, but it allowed us to go off-trail where the ground wasn’t soggy. Their engagement session turned out so cute; just like them! This park is full of beautiful nooks and crannies, whether you park in the front or all the way back by the swim hole. I’m always adding to my file of accessible spots, so it’s wonderful to find a reliable park to tack onto that list.
I hope you enjoy the highlights from their session! Miigwech!
