Surprise Proposal on Stone Arch Bridge

This was the first surprise proposal in my books, but I definitely hope it wasn’t the last. I had two goals for Abby + Brendan’s proposal: 1) don’t get spotted and 2) include the beautiful Minneapolis skyline in the background. I think I achieved that beautifully.

Brendan reached out with a really solid plan—he was taking Abby to see a show at the Guthrie in the afternoon and wanted to take a nice walk across Stone Arch Bridge afterward, followed by some portraits along St. Anthony Main and a celebratory Guinness at Nye’s Bar. I marked a spot on the bridge to let Brendan know where I wanted him to pop the question. I waited patiently until spotting them a ways down the bridge. When they reached the marked spot, I swooped in to get the photos, staying far enough back as to not disturb the happy couple’s moment. Brendan popped the question so fast—it was a beautiful blur of elation.

Congratulations to Abby and Brendan!
