Scenic Wedding in Maiden Rock, WI
Kelly and Joey’s wedding took place on a gorgeous summer day in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. We started the day at a chic Airbnb situated atop some bluffs that overlooked the nearby lake. Everything was a bit damp from an earlier rain, but the skies were bright and the day was warm. We took family formals and a majority of the wedding party photos at the Airbnb because the property was stunning (those birch trees!) but we also took photos in a nearby field the couple had scoped out the day before. The sun really came out in full force while we were photographing in the field, but we used the light to our advantage.
The ceremony was beautiful. They had some friends sing and play the acoustic guitar. And only one train blew through while everything was taking place. Yes, the venue is situated quite literally beside a very active train-track route. It made for some very cool images, but it’s something to consider if you’re sensitive to loud noises, and frequent ones at that. Dinner was delicious wood-fired pizzas and for dessert, mini pies! Some time before the wedding, Joey had gifted Kelly a pottery class where she made a whole bunch of little coffee mugs, and those were gifted to the guests to bring home. All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with intention and care.
